Authenic portraits and good stories
AUTHENTIC PORTRAITS AND GOOD STORIES
Have you been questioning your career lately? Looking for something with more meaning? Certainly is in tune with the times. Well I’ve been thinking too. And there are jobs I don’t want to do anymore and others that I want more of. In essence, I want to create: authentic portraits and good stories.
“Authentic, oh please!”. Well yes, exactly; please. I can’t find a better word to express the kind of portraits I want to create. I want to care more about the personality that transpires than the suit that is worn. I want to create portraits that feel authentic as opposed to hyper-controlled ones that offer nothing. I want to portray character and personality.
And then, I want to show and tell good stories. “Well, that’s pretty vague!” Ok then: I want assignments to have a bit of meat to them. I want to dive in. I want viewers to learn or feel something. The story can be told through photos or videos. The story can be corporate, industrial or charity. As long as it’s a good story. Then I’ll be heading in the right direction. That’s too many words though, so let’s just stick with good stories.
This isn’t a promise. It's my intention. My portfolio still has a few images that aren’t quite authentic portraits and good stories. But I’m getting there.
